AlphaSOC for Splunk

Splunk Cloud
Overview
Details
Security teams use this app to render OCSF security findings generated by the AlphaSOC Analytics Engine across different layers (cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, identity providers, and endpoint telemetry). Use AlphaSOC for Splunk to instantly uncover network exfiltration and C2 traffic patterns, infected Windows, Linux, and macOS endpoints, compromised cloud workloads, and identities.

AlphaSOC for Splunk

AlphaSOC for Splunk is designed to empower security analysts with powerful tools for threat detection and investigation. The application renders OCSF security findings generated by the AlphaSOC Analytics Engine across different layers (cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, identity providers, and endpoint telemetry). By leveraging behavioral analytics, threat intelligence, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework, the app enables teams to surface and understand suspicious activity faster, prioritize threats effectively, and streamline their security operations.

Threat Hunter

The Threat Hunter dashboard provides a comprehensive interface for security analysts to investigate and monitor suspicious activities across their environment. It displays findings in an interactive table with integrated trendline visualizations and key findings information such as detection types, associated entities, event domains, and statistics. Findings are prioritized by detection type and severity, derived from behavioral analytics and threat intelligence. This visualization tool features:

  • Flexible time range selection
  • Event domain filtering
  • Entity-based filtering
  • Detection type categorization
  • Severity threshold adjustment

These features allow security teams to quickly identify patterns, prioritize investigations, and track security findings over time, streamlining the threat hunting process. For a complete list of available detections, refer to the AlphaSOC detections documentation.

MITRE ATT&CK

The MITRE ATT&CK view presents an interactive Enterprise ATT&CK Matrix highlighting tactics and techniques identified in your environment. The visualization includes:

  • Visual mapping of detected techniques
  • Time range and domain filtering options
  • Entity-based filtering
  • Severity threshold adjustment

Users can select specific technique identifiers to view detailed descriptions and associated tactics, with direct navigation to the Findings Explorer for comprehensive investigation. This tactical overview helps security teams understand attack patterns and quickly pivot to detailed analysis.

Findings Explorer

The Findings Explorer offers an interface for in-depth analysis that can be accessed directly from any finding in the Threat Hunter dashboard or any technique identifier in the MITRE ATT&CK dashboard. This detailed view provides comprehensive information about specific security findings, allowing analysts to thoroughly examine the context and evidence. Users can analyze:

  • Complete finding context and metadata
  • Observables associated with the finding
  • Detailed event timelines
  • Raw event samples related to the finding

This view retains all of the powerful filtering capabilities of the Threat Hunter dashboard, enabling analysts to effortlessly transition between high-level threat hunting and detailed investigative workflows.
