Overview
This technical add-on helps bring visibility into Hitachi VSP One Object Storage v3.x environments by collecting 13 key Prometheus metrics.
It focuses on both Pushgateway and Envoy proxy metrics - such as push duration, request totals, flood detection, and stream errors to help teams monitor object storage performance and detect anomalies in real time.
The add-on uses fields and alias for easier search and field normalization in Splunk, but does not follow the full CIM data model.

02. Collects 13 key metrics from Prometheus, including:
- Pushgateway metrics: http_push_duration_seconds, http_push_size_bytes, and http_requests_total
- Envoy cluster metrics: flood detection, metadata errors, connection resets, and HTTP/3 issues
03. Designed to help monitor storage health, track request activity, and identify network-level issues
04. Uses fields and alias to normalize data for easier searching
05. Metrics are collected every 30 seconds and stored in the prometheus index
06. Tested on Splunk 9.4 and compatible with Hitachi VSP One Object Storage v3.x
