To install your download
To install apps and add-ons from within Splunk Enterprise
  1. Log into Splunk Enterprise.
  2. On the Apps menu, click Manage Apps.
  3. Click Install app from file.
  4. In the Upload app window, click Choose File.
  5. Locate the .tar.gz file you just downloaded, and then click Open or Choose.
  6. Click Upload.
  7. Click Restart Splunk, and then confirm that you want to restart.
To install apps and add-ons directly into Splunk Enterprise
  1. Put the downloaded file in the $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps directory.
  2. Untar and ungzip your app or add-on, using a tool like tar -xvf (on *nix) or WinZip (on Windows).
  3. Restart Splunk.
After you install a Splunk app, you will find it on Splunk Home. If you have questions or need more information, see Manage app and add-on objects.

This TA empowers administrators by providing access to critical platform insights that were previously only accessible via the Splunk Observability APIs. Easily navigate through previously hard-to-find configuration information with our TA. Enjoy the convenience of searchable data, allowing you to pinpoint specific details and streamline your troubleshooting process.

Inbuilt dashboards are available for monitoring TA Health, understanding O11y platform health and summarizing TA data

This release transforms the App from a "Add-on builder" built app to a "UCC" Built app.

This is done with the intention to make the app a better UI experience and more maintainable app for myself. in addition a Github page has been built to host the app to allow for users of the app to create issues and discuss: https://github.com/brodytedesco/observability_admin_ta

BREAKING CHANGES

  • your inputs will no longer work, you will need to delete your local
    inputs.conf and reconfigure them, via the UI. I apologize for the inconvenience
  • Source type names have changed

Changes

  • A configuration page has been added to set-up accounts, needing to only enter tokens once instead of every input.
  • Inputs page has changed
  • A more simple synthetics type has been added, due to the overly long ingest times being experienced previously. Synthetics are now split by - Synthetics, Synthetics Detailed. It's recommended you use Synthetics, the new more simple input type.
