Sniffa NDR Application for Splunk
Overview
Details
This Splunk® Application is used by Incident Responders and Threat Hunters to View and Correlate Alert logs generated by the Sniffa Sensor Manager, Snort® and Suricata IDS with the high-fidelity transaction logs produced by the Open Source network security tool called Zeek (formerly known as Bro).

This application is designed to compliment a subscription to the Sniffa Sensor Manager Application and ingest logs from Sniffa-built Sensors, however it can be used to ingest logs from any Open Source Zeek sensors if configured appropriately.

This product designed to operate with the Sniffa Sensor Manager Application and is used to ingest logs from your deployed Sniffa Sensors. It is currently included free with any subscription to the Sensor Manager Application purchased from Sniffa Network Security Solutions Ltd.

However, this application can be obtained separately and used to ingest logs from any Open Source Zeek sensors if configured appropriately. In that instance, it will not require a subscription to the Sensor Manager Application and can be used as a stand alone application to ingest Zeek logs into Splunk®.

The application will ingest, index and populate dashboards for the following Zeek logs:

• Connections. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/conn.log)
• DHCP. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/dhcp.log)
• DNS. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/dns.log)
• HTTP. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/conn.log)
• HTTPS. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/ssl.log)
• SIP. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/sip.log)
• SSH. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/ssh.log)
• RDP. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/rdp.log)
• NTLM. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/ntlm.log)
• Kerberos. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/kerberos.log)
• Files. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/files.log)
• Software. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/software.log)
• PE. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/pe.log)
• X509. (/opt/zeek/logs/current/x509.log)

The application will ingest, index and populate dashboards for the following IDS Alerts:

• Sniffa. (/var/log/sniffa/alerts.log)
• Snort. (/var/log/sniffa/alerts.log)
• Suricata. (/var/log/sniffa/alerts.log)

Note: IDS Alerts are only generated by having a subscription to the Sniffa Sensor Manager Application.
