Installation is as standard for a Splunk Add-On
After installation, please use the following steps as a guide
1. Open the Add-On and select Configuration
2. Enter the user credentials to be used by Splunk
3. Go to Inputs and Create a New Input
4. Fill in the details as requested on the input screen and you are away!
The current validation rules apply whenever a new input is setup.
1. A test call is made to the teamsettings api on Azure DevOps. This will test that your entered values for Organization, Project and Team are correct.
2. One of the optional parameters (Work Items, Team Info, and Project Info) are selected.
The Azure DevOps has a limit of approx 200 times the consumption of a "typical user" over a rolling 5 min window. Please bear this in mind when setting up your inputs.
Max of 2 plus 2 for each work item selected.
2 Calls
Max of 2 plus a further 2 for each iteration
Should you fail to get any data into Splunk. Please check the _internal index for the add-on to see if any errors are occurring. You may also want to check the volume of calls to the Azure DevOps api, information regarding how to do this can be found here.
Depending on the volume of data ingested, it may be adviseable to change the logging level to Warning or Error in order to try and speed up the process. This can be done in the configuration area of the add-on.
If you encounter any further issues please ensure that you have set the logging level to debug and send me a copy of your logs. I will then endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can.
Collect data from work items associated with expired iterations which are not marked as either "Done" or "Removed"
